KYL is an academic male choir with high artistic goals, great team spirit and long traditions. The choir has enjoyed success both in Finland and internationally since its establishment in November 1949. The choir has been commended for its clear and youthful timbre. For 60 years now, KYL has been performing actively representing the Aalto University School of Economics, its Student Union, and Finland in hundreds of occasions abroad and in Finland.

One of the choir’s traditions is to tour abroad about once a year. In recent years, the choir has been doing its share for promoting Finnish culture abroad by performing in Germany (2009), Spain (2009), Sweden (2008) and Russia (2007).

The repertoire of KYL is broad. The foundation is in traditional Finnish classical male choir music.

As a student choir, it is customary – and a great pleasure - to perform serenades and drinking songs. To spice it up, the choir has arrangements for a wide selection of international evergreen and pop hits.
